How far in advance should a New York escape be arranged?
Three to four weeks sits comfortably for all three of these routes, and two weeks is usually workable. The constraint is rarely the companion. It is the house and the table: the Hamptons in high summer, and Nantucket over a holiday weekend, fill early.
Does a companion travel out with me, or meet me there?
Either. Traveling out together tends to make the first evening easier, and on the drive to the South Fork the conversation is half the itinerary. Where discretion favours separate arrivals, that is arranged quietly and without comment.
Are flights, ferries and transfers arranged as part of the booking?
